Ryder’s Xchange Late Return & Extension Policy
1. Returning the Vehicle
Renters must return the vehicle:
- At the agreed location;
- At the agreed booking expiry date and time; and
- In the same condition it was received.
If the vehicle is returned late, additional charges may apply in accordance with this policy and the Ryder’s Xchange Terms & Conditions.
2. Late Return Fees
If the renter does not return the vehicle on time, the following fees may apply:

| 30 minutes – 2 hours | Additional hourly fee |
| Over 2 hours | Additional day charge |
Excessive or repeated late returns may result in account restrictions, suspension, or additional penalties at the discretion of Ryder’s Xchange.
3. Automatic Charges for Unapproved Extensions
If a vehicle is not returned by the agreed booking expiry date and time, and the rental has not been formally extended or renewed through the Ryder’s Xchange platform, the system may automatically apply additional charges to the renter’s account.
These charges are calculated at the applicable daily rental rate of $50 per day and may also include:
- Administrative processing fees;
- Late return fees;
- Booking management and recovery costs; and
- Any additional applicable charges outlined in the Ryder’s Xchange Terms & Conditions.
Automatic deductions may continue until:
- The vehicle is returned;
- The booking is formally extended and approved through the platform; or
- Ryder’s Xchange otherwise resolves the matter.
To avoid automatic deductions or interruptions to your booking, all extensions must be approved and processed directly through the Ryder’s Xchange platform prior to the booking expiry time.
4. Booking Extensions
If a renter needs to extend their booking, they must:
- Submit an extension request through the Ryder’s Xchange platform;
- Wait for host approval; and
- Pay the additional rental charges before the extension is confirmed.
Extensions are subject to vehicle availability and host approval. Submission of an extension request does not guarantee approval.
5. Failure to Return the Vehicle
If a renter fails to return the vehicle and does not communicate with the host or Ryder’s Xchange:
- The vehicle may be classified as unreturned;
- Additional fees and recovery costs may apply;
- Ryder’s Xchange may attempt to recover the vehicle; and
- Law enforcement authorities may be notified where appropriate.
