Ryder’s Xchange Host Agreement

Purpose

This agreement outlines the responsibilities of hosts who list vehicles on Ryder’s Xchange.

Ryder’s Xchange operates as a peer-to-peer vehicle rental marketplace connecting vehicle owners (“Hosts”) with renters across Australia.

Host Responsibilities

Hosts must:

• Own or legally control the listed vehicle
• Maintain roadworthy condition
• Ensure registration is valid
• Provide accurate listings
• Comply with all applicable Australian laws, regulations, licensing, and insurance requirements within their respective State or Territory

Hosts are solely responsible for ensuring they are legally permitted to hire out vehicles in their local jurisdiction.

Licensing & Compliance Requirements

As Ryder’s Xchange operates as a peer-to-peer platform, Hosts may be required to obtain licences, approvals, permits, or exemptions depending on the laws of their State or Territory.

Hosts must independently ensure compliance with their own local State or Territory laws before listing vehicles for rental on Ryder’s Xchange.

Western Australia (Example)

In Western Australia, Hosts intending to hire out vehicles may require either:

1. Category D Motor Vehicle Dealer Licence

A Category D Motor Vehicle Dealer Licence allows:

• Hiring out vehicles
• Purchasing vehicles for rental purposes
• Selling or auctioning vehicles that have been hired out

Approximate WA Government licence fee:

• ~$2,130 (valid for 3 years)

2. Exemption from Compliance with the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act (MH)

(MH = Car Hire Operator)

This exemption may apply where:

• vehicle sales are not the primary part of the business, and
• hire vehicles are generally disposed of through licensed motor vehicle dealers.

Approximate WA Government exemption fee:

• ~$182

Vehicle Listing Requirements

Listings must include:

• Make and model
• Year
• Engine size
• Photos
• Pickup location
• Pricing

Host Earnings

Hosts earn rental income after:

• Service fees
• Taxes
• Platform charges

Host Cancellations

Hosts should avoid cancelling confirmed bookings.

Repeated cancellations may lead to penalties.
